GREEN - Poland led 17-14 at halftime, but the Bulldogs surrendered 21 unanswered points in the final two quarters in losing 35-17 to Dover in this Division III regional semifinal on Saturday night.

Trailing 14-7 after the first quarter, Poland (8-4) took the lead as Jake Wolfe threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Jon Markota and Connor McFadden kicked a 27-yard field goal.

From then on, it was all Dover (10-2). The Tornados offense revolves around quarterback Mason Mammarella, and Saturday was no exception. He started the game with a 54-yard TD run early in the first quarter and added scoring runs of 16 and 75 yards in the second half.

Mammarella threw for 184 yards and rushed for 246 more for Dover.

Ross Gould paced Poland with 121 yards rushing and scored a first-quarter touchdown that tied the game 7-7.

Dover is coached by 1974 John F. Kennedy graduate Dan Ifft.
