Poland rallies, defeats Struthers 28-14

STRUTHERS - Struthers rallied to tie the game, 14-14, at halftime, but Poland scored twice in the fourth quarter for the 28-14 victory.

Ross Gould led the Bulldogs (4-2, 2-1 All-American Conference, National Division) with 127 yards rushing. He scored the game-winning touchdown with 8:31 to play.

Dave Stewart led Struthers (4-2, 1-1) with 127 yards on the ground but was held out of the end zone.

LEDGEMONT 28, SOUTHINGTON 14: THOMPSON - The Wildcats had upper hand in yardage over the Redskins, but it wasn't enough as Ledgemont picked up the Northeastern Athletic Conference victory.

Jordan Dickey did the heavy lifting for Southington, rushing for 246 yards on 37 carries. Total, the Wildcats had 257 rushing yards compared to 68 for Ledgemont. Dickey had both of Southington's touchdowns.

The Wildcats are now 3-3 on the season.

HUBBARD 62, EAST LIVERPOOL 19: HUBBARD - Darnell Tate had a big night and Larry Scott was right behind him as Hubbard snapped its two-game losing skid by defeating East Liverpool.

Tate caught four touchdown passes from Brandon Harb to go along with his 166 receiving yards. His catches were for 41, 12, 29 and 19 yards.

Larry Scott rushed for 206 yards and 16 carries and had two touchdown runs. Brandon Harb also rushed in one. Capping off the scoring for the Eagles was a 37-yard run from Dallas Booth.

Hubbard, which improves to 4-2 on the season, totaled 483 yards of offense, compared to 201 from East Liverpool.

LAKEVIEW 28, LaBRAE 21: LEAVITTSBURG - Elijah Henderson had 17 carries for 114 yards and touchdown and six catches for 91 yards to pace the Bulldogs past the Vikings in this All-American Conference, National Division game.

Lakeview (4-3, 3-0 AAC National) took a 20-7 lead at the half, but LaBrae (0-6, 0-4) cut the lead to 20-14 on Peyton Aldridge's 3-yard TD run.

Carl Brown led the Vikings with 67 yards on 14 carries and two scores.

LEETONIA 10, MCDONALD 0: LEETONIA - McDonald's slide continues, as the Blue Devils fell to Leetonia in Inter Tri-County League, Lower Tier game.

Leetonia's Brandon Dattilio kicked a 15-yard field goal in the first quarter and added a 45-yard touchdown pass from Trent Ferry to Dattilio for the final score. On the night, Leetonia rushed for 192 yards and passed for 62.

McDonald struggled on offense, only gaining 158 yards total. P.J. Mansky had 64 yards rushing to lead the Blue Devils (2-4).

BROOKFIELD 58, WESTERN RESERVE ACADEMY 23: HUDSON - Brookfield scored early and often, easily defeating Western Reserve Academy to improve to 6-0 on the season.

The scoring started less than a minute into the game, with Collin Harkulich catching a 4-yard pass from Jeremy Quinlan. Quinlan passed for that touchdown and ran in four more in the night. Ryan Mosora added two rushing touchdowns and scored on an interception return.

Total, the Warriors rushed for 359 yards. Mosora finished the night with 217 yards and Quinlan had 124.

Next week, the Warriors welcome in Edgewood.

BOARDMAN 42, MASSILLON PERRY 17: BOARDMAN - Isiah Lyle scored three touchdowns in the first half as Boardman rolled to an easy win.

John Babos led the Spartans (4-2, 2-0) with 97 yards rushing, and Turel Thompson had an 88-yard touchdown run.

Nicholas Sanders had 67 yards rushing and a score for Perry (3-3, 1-1).

MOGADORE 60, WINDHAM 0: MOGADORE - Strain scored three first-half touchdowns as Mogadore hammered Windham.

Strain had TD runs of 9, 70 and 13 yards, and Chew added a 25-yard interception return for another score for the Wildcats (6-0, 3-0).

SOUTH RANGE 68, JACKSON-MILTON 22: NORTH LIMA - South Range rushed for 391 yards and had a total of 631 yards in a rout of Jackson-Milton.

Jake Arsufi and Joe Alessi each scored twice for the Raiders (4-2, 3-0).

Jeremy Fitzpatrick threw two touchdown passes for the Blue Jays (0-6, 0-3), but threw three interceptions.

GRAND VALLEY 50, LUTHERAN EAST 24: ORWELL - Tyler Drenski rushed for 94 yards and scored three touchdowns to pace Grand Valley.

Stanley Sirrine led the Mustangs (3-3) with 149 yards on the ground. He had a 3-yard TD in the first quarter.

Brandon Rivers caught five passes for 166 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown, for Lutheran East (0-6).

MINERAL RIDGE 28, EAST PALESTINE 12: EAST PALESTINE - After a scoreless first half, Mineral Ridge scored 28 second-half points to defeat East Palestine.

Devine Redding led the Rams (3-3, 2-1) with 102 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He had an 87-yard kickoff return to begin the second half and added a 35-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Luke Cope passed for 211 yards in defeat for East Palestine (0-6, 0-3).

GARFIELD 25, ROOTSTOWN 14: GARRETTSVILLE - Chase Chapman was 20 of 39 for 256 yards and two scores to lead the G-Men past the Rovers in this PTC County Division battle.

It was Champan's 5-yard pass to Fred Maxey early in the fourth quarter that gave Garfield the lead for good.

Tyler Covey had nine catches for 137 yards and Josh Tyburski had six catches for 96 yards for Garfield (2-4, 1-2).

Daniel Lashley had 109 yards on 24 carries for Rootstown (2-4, 0-3).

GARAWAY 42, YOUNGSTOWN CHRISTIAN 25: SUGARCREEK - Tyler Walter was 16 of 24 for 239 yards and four touchdowns to keep the Pirates undefeated.

Garaway (6-0) took a 28-0 lead in the second quarter before Darien Townsend's 87-yard kickoff return for a touchdown got Youngstown Christian (5-1) on the board before halftime.

Townsend's 25-yard TD reception from Emmett Underwood and Nick Gonda's 36-yard TD reception cut the Garaway lead to 28-18, which is as close as the Eagles would get.

Ryan Grier, who had eight carries for 59 yards, added a late score for Youngstown Christian.

CRESTVIEW 58, SPRINGFIELD 7: NEW MIDDLETOWN - Nick Blower had 252 yards on 19 carries and three touchdowns as the Rebels rolled past the Tigers in this ITCL Upper Tier battle.

Crestview (6-0, 3-0 ITCL Upper) outgained Springfield (2-4, 1-2) in total yardage, 497-136.

The Tigers were held to 42 yards on 30 carries, while the Rebels had 435 yards on 48 carries.

SOUTHEAST 49, EAST CANTON 13: PALMYRA - Brandon Olson had 22 carries for 163 yards and three touchdowns as the Pirates rolled past the Hornets in this Portage Trail Conference, County Division game.

Olson had TD runs of 37, 33 and 4 yards for Southeast (4-2, 3-0 PTC County).

East Canton (3-3, 2-1) got it first score on Tekip's 87-yard kickoff return for a touchdown with 11:46 left in the third quarter as the Hornets trailed 28-7.

Southeast had 449 total yards to East Canton's 188.
