LIBERTY - For every East score, Liberty was quick to answer for the first half of Friday's contest.

The second half was another story in East's 26-15 victory.

Though there was not much scoring in the final two periods, East did enough in the first half to keep the victory for the season opener. A dangerous ground attack for East drilled into the heart of the Liberty defense time after time, down after down.

East remained committed to the ground game from the opening kickoff, as it did not attempt one pass for the duration of the contest.

The assault via the ground game came way of 61 attempts for a total of 305 yards.

George Leflore and teammate DD Fleetion combined for 261 yards and two scores to lead the onslaught. Liberty did its part in staying in the game with the help of Sharron Walls.

Walls compiled 67 yards and two scores for Liberty, but East would step up the defensive pressure, and stifle what little offense attempted to stir up in the second half.
